Synodality\u00a0is the path and process of the Church in which all the baptized listen to each other, dialoguing with each other and praying together to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. In creating the opportunity for listening and dialogue on the local level, Pope Francis is calling the Church to rediscover its deeply\u00a0synodal\u00a0nature.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The practice of living as a\u00a0synodal\u00a0Church\u00a0involves communion, participation and mission. Through\u00a0synodality, the People of God talk to one another about things that matter, even when\u00a0their opinions differ. This attentive, respectful\u00a0listening and conversation\u00a0opens the path\u00a0to\u00a0personal transformation\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0deepening\u00a0sense of what it means to be a disciple of Christ. A new sense of one\u2019s place in the Church begins\u00a0to take hold.\u00a0 Excitement\u00a0and joy are felt as one\u2019s baptismal call to\u00a0evangelize and proclaim the Gospel is\u00a0given a new importance.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Across the diocese, beginning in February 2021, parishes will be hosting\u00a0what the Diocesan Synod\u00a0Organizing Committee is naming\u00a0<\/span>Listening Sessions<\/span>. Whether in-person or using virtual platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or Google Meet, small groups\u00a0will gather and,\u00a0w<\/span>ith the help of a trained facilitator,\u00a0will\u00a0pray together and discuss several common questions in a focused and reflective way.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Together, through this synodal process, matters of faith and modern challenges can be\u00a0discerned, allowing the Church\u00a0to grow in its mission for the third millennium.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
