PRAYER BEFORE MASS
Jesus, my Lord and Savior, thank you for calling me to this celebration of the Holy Mass. My life feels empty without you. I know that new life begins as I submit my life to you. Forgive my sins and give me a fresh opportunity to live my life for you. Calm my mind from distraction so that I may be attentive to the words, actions, symbols and signs of this act of worship. Surround my heart with your peace so that I may long for you. Take away my cares and worries so that I may rest in your satisfying care. May I listen with faith to God’s call to me in the readings. May I have an open heart to the homily and the petitions of the assembly. Show me how to offer myself with your sacrificial offering and to give thanks and praise in the great Eucharistic prayer. I want to walk by faith not just by sight. Motivate me to carry the effects of this celebration into my daily life, and to be a missionary of your Good News without being ashamed. Amen!
PRAYER AFTER HOLY COMMUNION
Jesus, host of the many meals in the Gospel stories, today at the table of the Eucharist, I experienced your sacrificial presence and the community of other believers. Jesus, Bread of Life, Wine of Salvation, I adore you, love you and surrender myself to you. I believe. Help my unbelief. Stretch my inner spirit to receive an even greater fullness of your mystery and love. Put power in my faith so I will not be afraid to give myself to you. Relieve me from the fear of sharing my faith with others. Teach me to see that being “taken, blessed, broken and given” actually heals me and those for whom I care. May my beliefs, attitudes and practices reflect my communion with you, both in this sacrament and in my daily life. Amen!

A GENUINE RULE OF LIFE
- Love God and all with a love from the heart
- Excuse all
- Speak well of all
- Judge kindly of all
- Do good to all
- Have compassion from the heart and pray to Jesus for everyone
- Don’t say sharp things, even if it were only to show your quickness
- Guard against ill feelings and control them by virtue (right disposition)
- Don’t prefer one person to another to the harm of the other
- Beware, lest diversity of opinions degenerate into factions
- Ask of God the four fruits of the Holy Spirit: Charity, Joy, Peace and Patience
- Let charity begin at home
